Biography
Prof. John Quelch is now the Associate Dean of Harvard Business School. He has also been the management board member, a consultant, seminar leader and speaker for firms, industry associations and government agencies in more than 40 countries in the world. Mr Quelch is also the Director of Marketing WPP Group, the second biggest marketing company in the world, and of Pepsi Bottling. He was once the Director of Reebok International.
Mr Quelch’s researches focus on global marketing activities and brand building in developed countries or emerging economies. He is also the author of nearly 20 books on marketing, including The New Global Brands (2006), Global Marketing Management (5th Edition, 2006), Cases in Advertising and Promotion Management (4th Edition, 1996). He has published eighteen articles on marketing strategy issues in the Harvard Business Review, most recently “How To Market In A Downturn” (April 2009), and many more in other leading management journals such as McKinsey Quarterly and Sloan Management Review.
Mr John Quelch is considered one of ten marketing experts who have biggest influences in the world, according to ‘Conversations with Marketing Masters’ by Laura Mazur and Louella Miles.
Prof. John Quelch has visited Vietnam for several times, on September 1, 2006, he met Vietnam’s Prime Minister, Nguyen Tan Dung. He had some proposals on marketing brands for nations and regions in Vietnam.
